The Magical Biwa is a Hardmode magic weapon. It creates three strings that initially move sideways from the player's position, then turn towards the current cursor position. The range and speed of the strings, as well as the pitch of the weapon's use sound, depend on the distance to the cursor.

The alternate fire mode makes the biwa play on its own for 6.5 seconds. During this time, it will hover in the air above the player and shoot salvos of strings to both sides at increasing distances. The cooldown of this attack is 18 seconds, and it has a base mana cost of 120.
