The Cloak of Darkness is an accessory that emits a protective bubble of darkness around the player, dropped by Rumia.

It reduces enemy aggro, with the size of the reduction depending on the lighting level at the player's position. In bright environments, the aggro reduction is 250, equivalent to that achieved by using items while under the effects of an Invisibility Potion. In total darkness, aggro is reduced by 750, equivalent to an invisibility potion while no item is used, or the stealth effect of the Shroomite armor.

Furthermore, enemies that enter the bubble of darkness have a chance to be confused for two seconds. If the player is hit by projectiles while the accessory is equipped, the damage of the projectile is reduced by 4.

Finally, the Cloak of Darkness also interacts with the other items associated with Rumia. The Sealing Talisman usually only applies its effects while in the dark; with the Cloak of Darkness equipped, the effect is available at all times. Similarly, the Moonlight Ray's bonus damage is active at all times, instead of only during the night.

However, the player is also affected by the bubble of darkness and is permanently under the effect of Darkness. This can not be circumvented even if items that provide immunity to this debuff are equipped.
