The Rift was an alternate reality, created by the Cosmic Emperor to inhabit some of the most deadly creatures known to man! Starborn entities have also adapted to the harsh and unstable realm. Some of the materials from the overworld were transmuted upon exposure to the Rift's shifted and unstable environment, forming otherworldly substances such as Ominite and Naquadah, the shifted reality was kept sealed shut in a Star Spiral by the Cosmic Emperor himself! One day, he shattered the spiral and unleashed the entities sealed within the Rift, most of the shifted and deadly creatures, however the creatures that have escaped the Star Spiral's seal had no physical form in the overworld, instead they embodied starborn entities, roaming any nearby crash site of a Fallen Comet.
