Heart Shrine (Consolaria)
Heart Shrines are small subterranean structures generated at world creation in the Ice biome. During world generation, the addition of these structures is described as "Adding some love". Note that if "seasonal content - other events" is enabled in the Configuration options, heart shrines will only be generated in worlds created during the Valentine's Day period (February).
A heart shrine is generated by finding an area which contains no chests and where all the blocks are either ice, snow, or empty; then cutting a heart-shaped hole in it:
.... ...... .... ... .... ... .. .. .. . . □□ □□ □□ □□ . . .. .. ... ... .... □□ .... ..... □□ ..... ...... ...... ....... ....... ........ ........ ......... ......... .......... .......... ........... ........... ............ ............ ............. ............. .............. .............. ............... ............... ................ ................ |
In the above diagram, dots represent blocks that are left alone (they may be filled with ice or snow, or may have holes through them from caves generated at a previous step). The squares represent Snow Block that are added for the heart shrine structure. Empty space represents blocks that are explicitly cleared out to generate the heart shape.
On those three 2x2 squares of Snow Blocks, the upper two get a Life Crystal each, while the lower one gets a Frozen Chest that always contains the following loot:
Item | Qty |
---|---|
Heart Statue | 1 |
Broken Heart | 1 |
Valentine Ring | 1 |
Heart Lantern | 1 |
Heartreach Potion | 1 |
Heart Arrow | 14-30 |
Copper Coin | 69 |
Trivia
- In pre-1.3 mobile, heart shrines generated with an Ice chest (then named Frozen Chest) instead of a Frozen Chest and showed a red outline on the map. They also did not contain a Broken Heart as part of the loot pool.
- The chest would always contain a total of 69 Copper Coins. Due to the overall love theme of the shrine, this is most likely a reference to 69, a well-known sex position.
