Vertrarius von Baaruun is a passive NPC that can be summoned by using the Soul of the Underworld in The Underworld after listening to the soul's conversation. Upon being summoned, Vertrarius will speak to the player and then ask them to take his weapon, after which he will drop the Evil Ember, Vulkanus. Upon finishing his dialogue, he will disappear and "Vertrarius' soul fades away into Vulkanus." will be displayed in chat.

Notes

• Vertrarius cannot take damage and as such can't be killed.

Trivia

• Initially, Vertrarius wasn't supposed to appear ingame and instead was going to be only appearing in lore texts. This was changed when boss soul weapon crafting was cut from the mod during development. He and Adel were then added to give the weapons more unique obtainment methods.
