The Old Hunter's Crossbow is a pre-Hardmode bow that can be found inside Pumpkin Chests in the Creepy Catacombs or inside Bone Crates. It converts any arrows into Crossbow Arrows that can pierce twice. Holding the attack button will charge the crossbow up to 3 times, increasing the Arrow's damage and velocity. The Arrow's damage is decreased by 15 at charge level 1, unaffected at charge level 2, and is increased by 25 at charge level 3. Additionally, the player's horizontal velocity will be decreased by 2% per frame while charging the Crossbow.

Its best modifier is Unreal.
