Vermin Staff (Gensokyo)

The Vermin Staff is a Hardmode summon weapon and upgrade to the Rodent Staff. It summons giant rats. When spotting an enemy, these rats will move into melee range and begin rapidly attacking; during this. With each hit, they have a chance to inflict the Acid Venom debuff, as well as the Diseased debuff. The latter reduces the target's movement speed, causes it to lose an additional 4 health per second, and will spread to other nearby enemies. Against targets that are too high in the air to reach, the rats will instead spit globs of poisonous spit, which may inflict the same debuffs.
Like other minions, the rats are invincible and follows the player for an unlimited amount of time, unless the player dies, exits the world, summons a replacement minion or cancels the buff.
