The Shinigami's Scythe is a Hardmode scythe. When swung, it generates a large melee aura, which makes it possible to deal damage from significant range. Furthermore, the scythe also shoots four to five coins with every other attack; these coins bounce off of tiles and deal 66% of the weapon's melee damage.

The scythe's alternate fire shoots a wave of energy. On contact with an enemy, it releases Wandering Spirits, which will begin to move upwards. While normal enemies may release one or two spirits, bosses release between three and five of them. On collecting a spirit, the player will be healed for 5 health. The alternate fire has a cooldown time of 8 seconds.

The Shinigami's Scythe is available for purchase at the Curio Trader after defeating any Tier 5 Boss.

Trivia

• This weapon is a reference to the scythe wielded by Komachi Onozuka. The alternate attack imitates the spell card Soul Sign "Scythe of Roaming Spirits" from Hisoutensoku.
