The Nova Cannon is a Hardmode, post-Moon Lord magic weapon. Its main fire mode shoots a ray of energy, capable of piercing enemies and applying the Daybroken debuff to them for additional damage. On piercing an enemy, or on contact with tiles, it causes an explosion similar to that created by the Inferno Fork (up to three per beam). This explosion deals 50% less damage than the ray.

The alternate fire mode spawns a sun at the targeted location. This sun will then begin to grow, turning a darker shade of red in the process. During this stage, it will also begin to pull in enemies (though with much less force than the Gravity Abyss Emitter. Finally, after 2.5 seconds of growth, the sun will destroy itself in a massive explosion that damages enemies in a gigantic radius. In addition to dealing incredible amounts of damage, this also inflicts the Daybroken debuff for a significant duration.

The alternate fire mode has a cooldown of 30 seconds and a base mana cost of 72.
