The Mochi Pounding Mallet is a Pre-Hardmode hammer. Its use speed is very low, but has a very long reach. On hit, it has a 80% to inflict the Confused debuff on enemies. During its swing, globs of Mochi paste fall off the hammer head and fly in a random direction. These deal 50% of the hammer's damage, but have no knockback.

If desired, the item's hammer functionality can be turned off in the Mod Configuration settings, to prevent accidentally hammering walls while using it in combat.

• In real life, these kinds of mallets were used to make Mochi and Rice Balls.
