The Metal Fairy is a Pre-Hardmode fairy which rarely spawns in the Cavern layer, with the spawn rate increasing proportionally to the depth. When a player is nearby, they will surround themselves with ores that cycle around them; once they have a clear line of sight, they will then successively shoot these ores at the player. The ores bounce off of tile surfaces a single time.

Metal Fairies drop three to five Point Items. In addition, they will drop 10 to 20 of one randomly chosen (but world-appropriate) ore up to Gold / Platinum.
