The Grasping Vine is a Hardmode whip which can be purchased from the Curio Trader after defeating any Tier 5 Boss. Like all whips, it causes minions to focus on the last-struck enemy and increases their damage against the target (by 10 in the case of the Grasping Vine).

Furthermore, it inflicts enemies with a debuff that slows them down substantially. When using the alternate fire, the five closest enemies that have this debuff will have vines erupt from them, which will then home in on nearby targets.

Trivia

• The Grasping Vine is a reference to attacks used by weapon wielded by Hisami Yomotsu in Touhou 19 ~ Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost. Its name and the slowdown effect are also a reference to her stated ability, "Never letting anything slip from her grasp".
