In Phases 1 and 2 only Blood Slimes are summoned (and Clot Slimes in Expert and Master Modes). Phase 3 starts summoning Boiling Slimes as well. None of these slimes are affected by the Royal Gel. When the Emperor Slime is enraged during the Blood Moon he will summon Boiling Slimes in all phases.

Boss

Emperor Slime is a post-Moon Lord boss. His appearance is that of a Red Slime wearing a dark gray crown. As the Emperor Slime takes damage, he spawns Blood Slimes, Boiling Slimes, as well as Clot Slimes in Expert and Master Mode.

Emperor Slime spawns when a player uses a Blood Moon Effigy.

While it is alive, the vanilla music Plantera will play.

Spawning

Manual

Emperor Slime can be summoned manually anywhere and at any time using the Blood Moon Effigy.

Tips

  • The Blood Slimes and Clot Slimes that are spawned during the fight can drop Hearts and Stars, however Boiling Slimes do not. It is important to take full advantage of this, because the Clotted debuff stops most other methods of healing.
  • During the Blood Moon the Emperor Slime will enrage, this causes it to summon Boiling Slimes in phases 1 & 2 and to instantly kill the player with all attacks. (similar to the Empress of Light)

Trivia

  • When teleporting, Emperor Slime keeps his crown, unlike its other Boss Slime counterparts.
  • Neither Emperor Slime nor the Slimes he spawns drop gel.
  • The Emperor Slime does not appear to have anything trapped inside.
  • The Clot Slime, similar to the Spiked Slime, doesn't have a Bestiary entry due to only appearing in Expert and Master modes.
  • Despite being the stronger enemy, the Clot Slime has a lower base damage than the Blood Slime, however the Blood Slime doesn't scale in expert mode and therefore always does less damage than the Clot Slime in the modes it does appear in.
