T.U.B

The Oracle is a Town NPC that provides a selection of pets for purchase, with new ones becoming available throughout the game. Alongside her, she will have a pet tentacle monster named T.U.B at all times, which will follow her if she moves too far away from it. The Oracle also has a divination option which allows the player to collect a random grab bag every day.

The Oracle will only move in once the following conditions have been met:

• There is an empty house.
• The player has any pet or light pet equipped.

When threatened by enemies, she will defend herself by throwing Cards and 8Balls at them. During Blood Moons, T.U.B will begin to fly and attack enemies.

Divination

The Oracle's divination chat option allows for the player to collect a random grab bag type item from a set pool once per day (24 minute cooldown).

• T.U.B cannot be damaged or killed.
  • However, they will despawn if the Oracle is killed.
• It is advised to stay clear of the Oracle during Blood Moons due to the potential hostility of T.U.B.
• During October, T.U.B will gain an alternate costume where he wears a pumpkin.
• The Digested Worm Food and Rotten Key will be sold in their respective evil's worlds if the opposite evil boss is killed, it is not dependent on what world evil is present. For example, if the Perforators are fought and killed on a Corruption world, which can be done by importing Bloody Worm Food from a Crimson world, the Rotten Key will become available.

• The Oracle and T.U.B originated from a pet NPC designing contest, which was won by Kiwabug.

Lore

The Oracle is a tomboyish 20 year old who, since her young teenage years, has been interested and obsessed with mystic arts. She learnt the meanings and use of tarot cards and practiced fortunetelling until her tellings became more precise and real, using her skills she discovered that she is a descendant of a holy oracle. Although her skill was great, eventually that grew dull by itself and she wanted to learn a more direct mystic art. She wanted to summon a companion. Her skill with fortunetelling made it much easier for her, and within short time she had prepared a summoning circle... Mostly. Although her appearance might look mean, she wouldn't be able to get something like a human heart, and she wouldn't want the type of strong demon that would summon regardless. So she decided to substitute that with some octopus that was in her freezer and a few drops of her blood. In a puff of smoke the summoning was successful, and she heard... slapping sounds? On the ground was a little eye creature with short fat tentacles it was slapping on the ground in confusion. The Oracle's heart melted immediately. She adored this smol monster she named TUB and took care of, even if he wasn't the companion she had in mind. Following that, she uses her clairvoyance to find other cute monsters to buy or rescue, and travels to find them safe homes.
