Types

Soil	Biome spread	Description
Dirt Contagion grass	✓	Virulent Mushrooms will grow on Contagion grass. Grass is vulnerable to Contagion.
Stone Chunkstone	✓	Stone is not immune to Contagion and it will become Chunkstone when exposed, but only in Hardmode. Unlike basic stone, Chunkstone can only be mined with a Nightmare, Deathbringer, or Goldmine Pickaxe or higher. Chunkstone will also grow Barfbush.
Sand Snotsand	✓	Sand is not immune to Contagion and will be turned into Snotsand if the contagion is allowed to spread to Sand.
Sandstone Snotsandstone	✓	Sandstone is not immune to Contagion and will be turned into Snotsandstone if the contagion is allowed to spread into Sandstone.
Hardened Sand Hardened Snotsand	✓	Hardened Sand is not immune to Contagion and will be turned into Hardened Snotsand if the contagion is allowed to spread into Hardened Sand.
Mud Contagion Jungle grass	✓	If mud is converted by Contagion in Hardmode, it will turn into Contagion Jungle grass, so damage done by the contagion is easily reversible.
Ice Yellow Ice	✓	Ice is not immune to Contagion and will be turned into Yellow Ice when exposed to the contagion. While wearing the Ice Skates, the player will move faster on Ice. All placed Ice Block types will cause snow to fall.
