The Tongue is a debuff inflicted by the Wall of Flesh when one of the following happens:

• The player gets stuck behind the Wall of Flesh.
• The player attempts to leave the Underworld when the Wall of Flesh is alive. (The player dies instantly if using instant teleportation items, such as a Magic Mirror, to escape the Underworld.)

When afflicted with this debuff, the Wall of Flesh draws in the player with a tendril at a base speed of 56 mph, ignoring blocks in the way, and deals severe damage to the player.
