— Arbitration
Arbitration is an optional, Hardmode Boss that is intended to be fought at around the same time as the Lunar Events.
Spawning
Upon entering an anomaly voyage (those being Lyra or the Dreaming City), the player will be teleported to Katabasis after a certain amount of time is elapsed. Arbitration will always spawn immediately on Katabasis. Optionally, if Arbitration has already been defeated, the player can use The Beating Crux to teleport directly to Katabasis.
Behavior
Arbitration stays in one spot and constantly performs attacks.
- Titanomachina: Fires projectiles in a grid formation.
- Blood Moon: Fires projectiles in either the four orthogonal directions, diagonal directions, or both.
- Visions Beyond: Grants the player the ability to see hidden platforms when standing still. The player is classified to be standing still if not moving left or right. Note that despite the name and the status message, the player has this ability before this attack is performed.
- Dark Deluge: Summons 5 projectiles above the player that accelerate downwards.
- Dark Design: Summons two stars that orbit around the arena and fire stars that move inward to the center.
- Shadows Withal: Similar to Dark Design, except three stars are summoned.
- Death Recital: Summons one star similarly to Dark Design, except the star moves significantly slower and fires a lot faster. This essentially makes crossing through the stars impossible.
- Severance of Fate: Two constructs will spawn to the left and right of Arbitration. One of them tracks the player with a red line. In order to destroy the constructs, the player must collide with the construct that does not have the red line. Failure to do results in massive damage.
- Ordained End: Summons a star far above Arbitration that fires stars down at the player.
Quotes
- "Chaos and order. You are always the victim." (?)
- "The end feels great, and (???)" (?)
- "What a sorrowful ending." (?)
- "It is only natural." (?)
- "I love(?) the gate, while you shall never see it." (?)
- "The end is never the end." (?)
Tips
- If you are in an Anomaly voyage, be prepared at all times. It can take a very long time for the teleportation to occur. The teleportation is indicated with the screen suddenly going all black.
- Be careful about Arbitration's arena, as some of the bottom platforms have spikes.
Trivia
- Arbitration's theme is "Second Warning(LoR ver.)" The theme is composed by Studio EIM for the video game Library of Ruina.
- Arbitration used to use voice lines from Nocturne, a League of Legends character.
- Said voicelines are more specifically from one of Nocturne's skins, Eternum.
- Arbitration's voicelines sound incomprehensible because they are in reverse. If you reverse the voiceclips, you can hear what it actually says, and even then, the clips are too distorted to hear clearly.
- Upon dying to Arbitration, instead of the typical "You died!" screen, the screen immediately cuts to black. The player is immediately returned to the homeworld.
