The Hornet's Sting is a hardmode magic gun rarely dropped from Moss Hornets once all 3 Mechanical bosses have been defeated. It rapidly shoots out stingers, with the stingers being able to stick to enemies and inflict a stacking Stung debuff with deals 4 damage over time and stacks up to 15 times. The stingers remain embedded in enemies for 5 seconds each, and disappears if the enemy is killed.

Notes

• The weapon has a base critical strike chance of 12% as opposed to the usual 4%.
• It takes 2 seconds for 15 stingers to be embedded in an enemy for the maximum debuff strength.
• At 15 stacks the debuff deals 60 damage per second.
