The Corroding Chompers is a Hardmode accessory that can be dropped by Goo Slugs. When equipped, it grants a 6.67*1/15 (6.67%) chance to attach a Corrosive Bite to the hit enemy. Corrosive Bites deal damage once, equal to the original hit's damage or 50, whichever is higher, and disappear afterwards. Only 1 Corrosive Bite can be attached to an enemy at once.
