The Ruby Keystone is a pre-Hardmode crafting material obtained by completing the Keystone trials in the Cursed Pyramid. There are a total of 3 Ruby Keystone tiles in the Pyramid; attempting to mine any of them will afflict the player with the Creative Shock debuff for 8 seconds and spawn a wave of enemies. Hitting the same Keystone 6 times will break it off, awarding the Keystone to the player. Afterwards, the tile will need to regenerate its Keystone over time before the trial could be repeated again.
3 Ruby Keystones are required to open the Strange Pillars in front of the Pharaoh's Curse arena in the Pyramid. Inserting all 3 will break the Pillar and turn the Keystones into Tainted Keystone Shards.
