The Abandoned Village is a biome generated on world creation, located in a Corruption/Crimson biome on the Dungeon side of the world. The biome contains scorched remains of a mining village, with tunnels running deep into the earth. While in the Abandoned Village, the player will be afflicted with the Lung Rot debuff, which decreases life regeneration and increases void regeneration while moving.

The surface portion of Abandoned Village consists of various charred houses with Locked Ruined Chests inside most of them. A well can be found on the outskirts of the village, and the entrance to the tunnels in its center. The central house also contains a Mineralarium with Demonite/Crimtane Ore.

The underground tunnels contain Earthen Plating reinforcements, Locked Earthen Plating Storages, and additional Locked Ruined Chests. A room containing 3 Mineralariums and the Ruby Gem Structure can be found in the tunnels as well. The lowest level of the tunnels additionally contains Gula Plating and Locked Gula Vaults, and leads to a storage room with 5 special Gula Vaults that each require 3 Old Keys to be opened, as well as the Gula Gateway room with the Seismic Station used to summon The Excavator boss.
