Buff Amplifiers (Scape and Run Parasites)

Buff Amplifiers are a mechanic that applies to several debuffs in the mod, or Amplified Buffs, indicated by a small number that appears in the bottom right of the buff icon.

Amplifiers have various effects depending on the buff, usually multiplying its effectiveness based on the current amplifier. Amplifiers apply to both NPCs and Players.

Stacking

Some buff sources can "Stack" the amplifier of their buff, when "Stacking" the amplifier will be increased by a certain value, usually with a cap as to the maximum.

Debuffs may also have their times "Stack", making repeated applications increase the buff timer by the stack time, also usually with a cap.

Repeated Application

Amplified buffs when re-applied obey specific logic, somewhat similar to their Minecraft inspired origins.

  • When the buff being applied has a lower amplifier than the buff's current amplifier, while not stacking, the buff will be ignored.
  • If the amplifier is greater than the current amplifier, the buff's time will be reduced to match the higher amplifier.
  • If the amplifier is stacking, and the current amplifier is greater than the max stack, the timer will be ignored.
  • If the amplifier is stacking, and the time is lower, then the lower time will be ignored, and the amplifier will still stack.
