The Skateboard is a Pre-Hardmode pavise that can be purchased from the Traveling Merchant after the player has destroyed a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart.

When blocking downwards, the player will be able to skate, sliding on the top of blocks and platforms at a set speed, ending when the pavise's block ends or when the player comes into contact with a wall.

Additionally, if the player slams the pavise downwards on an enemy, they will bounce off the enemy, gaining a burst of vertical speed.

The Skateboard has a base slam distance of 3.125 tiles, and block duration of 4 seconds.

Its best modifier is Empyrean.

Trivia

  • If the player bounces off an enemy with sufficient vertical speed while not jumping, a special sound effect will play.
    • The sound effect played when bouncing off an enemy is a direct reference to the special trick sound effect from the game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
