The Nazar is a post-Skeletron immunity accessory that grants the player immunity to the Cursed debuff. It has a 1/100 (1%) / 1/50 (2%) chance to drop from Cursed Skulls, Giant Cursed Skulls ((Desktop, Console and Mobile versions)), Dragon Skulls(Old-gen console and 3DS versions), Cursed Hammers, Crimson Axes, and Enchanted Swords.

It is one of the ingredients of the Countercurse Mantra, which is a crafting material required to make the Ankh Charm, an accessory which can be further crafted into the Ankh Shield.

• It is one of the (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) six / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) four components of the Ankh Shield that can be obtained in pre-Hardmode, the others being the Obsidian Skull, Cobalt Shield, Bezoar, (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Adhesive Bandage, and (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Megaphone.
• A nazar is an eye-shaped charm commonly found in the Middle East meant to ward away a superstitious curse called the Evil eye, believed to be cast by a malevolent, envious, or admiring gaze (depending on the culture), causing misfortune or injury (usually unintentionally) to the afflicted. The word nazar is derived from the Arabic نظر meaning sight or seeing; in this case it means glare.
