Moon (Macrocosm)
“Even on this airless rock, life finds a way. Always remain on guard.
— Loading Screen Tip
The Moon is the first subworld encountered in Macrocosm. It can only be reached once Moon Lord has been defeated. It is a small, white, airless moon with a landscape covered in craters. As it has no atmosphere, any players not wearing a spacesuit will suffer from suffocation. The Moon contains a large network of underground caverns and resources, which are essential for building armor and weapons capable of defense against the Moon's powerful enemies.
The Moon takes 8 in-game days to orbit Earth once, which amounts to 192 real-life minutes, or 3.2 real-life hours. Most of the Moon's enemies spawn either during the long night or underground, so new players are advised to leave the Moon before nightfall.
The Moon contains four bosses: Crater Demon, Moon Beast, Dementoxin, and the Lunalgamate. Currently, only Crater Demon is able to be fought.

Meteors
Occasionally, meteors will spawn on the Moon hurtling towards its surface, and can deal a high amount of damage to any Player or creature unfortunate enough to be hit by one. They come in three sizes: small, medium, and large, with the larger meteors creating larger explosions. Meteors have a chance to drop Meteoric Chunks, which can be cracked open to gain loot.

Trivia
- The theme heard while on the Moon during the day is Deadworld, composed by the artist Lincolnennis. The theme heard during the night is Requiem, also composed by Lincolnennis.
- In real life, the Moon takes about 27 days to orbit Earth once, however it takes only 8 in-game days in Terraria, judging by the Moon's phases. If the Moon were to orbit as long in-game as its real life counterpart, it would take nearly 11 real life hours to complete one revolution.
- The Earth can be visible in the sky during all hours of the day. This is because in real life the Moon is tidally locked to Earth, meaning one side of the Moon always faces it.
– According to the lore, the Moon was originally inhabited by a precursor race that created Moon Lord thousands of years ago, but were almost completely wiped out by a mysterious, catastrophic event. The survivors were hidden inside what would eventually become known as the Celestial Pillars, sealed away until Moon Lord would need them again.
