Bestiary (Phantom Train)
The Phantom Train is a pre-hardmode boss. It is intended to be fought after Eater of Worlds, but before Carbuncle.[1]
Spawning
The Phantom Train can be summoned by using Train Whistle. It must be used in the Surface otherwise the boss will not spawn.
Behavior
The Phantom Train behaves similar to Wall of Flesh where it moves across the map in a single direction forcing the player to constantly move away for the duration of the fight. It will attempt to stay vertically aligned with the player as it moves. It must be killed before it reaches the end of the map, otherwise the boss will despawn.
In addition to dealing contact damage the Phantom Train has 4 attacks:
- Train Wheels: The Phantom Train will shoot out 2 sets of 2 train wheels that move horizontally across the screen.
- Summon Enemies: The Phantom Train will summon Whispers which will chase the player. When below 50% hp 1,750 / 3,500 / 5,250 it will spawn more powerful Spectres, which are capable of summoning lightning.
- Summon Ghosts: The Phantom Train will toot its horn and summon a large wall of ghost projectiles. The ghosts will disappear on contact but will inflict on of the following debuffs:
- Rain Cloud: The Phantom Train will summon a rain cloud similar to Angry Nimbus that inflicts Poisoned for 6 seconds.
