Bestiary (Fat Chocobo)
The Fat Chocobo is a pre-hardmode boss. It is intended to be one of the first bosses fought by the player. It is intended to be fought before King Slime.[1]
Spawning
Fat Chocobo can be summoned by using Fat Chocobo Greens. It must be used on the Surface otherwise the boss will not spawn.
The first time Fat Chocobo is summoned it will taunt the player with the status message: "Fat Chocobo: Let's see if you are strong enough to claim my power!"
Behavior
Fat Chocobo attacks by jumping and falling on the player, leaving a damaging trail of dust underneath it as it moves. The speed and frequency of its jumps depends on the world Difficulty.
When Fat Chocobo is below 50% of it's maximum hp (1,200 / 2,400 / 3,600) it will begin spawning Chocobo which run towards the player and deal contact damage. The boss will also start attacking more quickly.
Then when Fat Chocobo is below 25% of it's maximum hp it will spawn two Chocobos instead of one.
